The technology to eliminate all GHGs for these vessels exists now and is market-ready.\nIn this talk\, we will look at:\n\n\nHydrogen and electric vessels on the water and in development\n\n\nHydrogen technology and systems\n\n\nESS technology and systems\n\n\nEnablers – Efficiency measures and wind propulsion\n\n\nDiscussion: RE Electricity and Hydrogen as the Shipping fuels of the future –leaping the barriers\n\n\nAbout the Speaker\nMadadh MacLaine is a visionary entrepreneur working in sustainability and the maritime sector. She is the Founder and CEO of Zero Emissions Maritime Technology Ltd (ZEM-Tech)\, Secretary-General of the Zero Emissions Ship Technology Association (ZESTAs)\, as well as Founder and Director of Fair Winds Trust. She has a background in hydrogen water electrolysis and maritime systems\, having represented ITM Power\, plc\, in the maritime industry.\nMadadh has been working in zero-emissions (ZE) shipping since she began designs for a ZE multi-access cargo ship in 2000. Frustrated by the lack of available technology\, she set off on a course to bring ZE Ship Technology to the market. She founded ZESTAs to promote the interests of the Zero Emissions Ship Technology Industry in 2019. The international trade association has grown to represent 42 disruptive innovators from diverse ZE maritime technologies. The goals of ZESTAs are to support ZE Technology development\, represent its interests in the international shipping industry and regulatory bodies\, and ensure a level playing field for Zero Emissions Ship Technologies\, as well as shipowners\, who are coming under increasing pressure to decarbonize their fleets. \n
