Solis Marine Engineering provides a range of design engineering services to the shipping, maritime and offshore energy sectors with a focus on clean shipping, marine renewables and offshore project engineering. Our team consists of naval architects and engineers with varied backgrounds from the defence, oil and gas, renewables and shipping industries.
We have a proven track record of delivering innovative solutions involving a wide range of alternative fuels and marine renewable technologies including fixed and floating wind, tidal and wave energy devices.
Clean Shipping
We provide a full range of design services from concept through to detailed design and build, for clean shipping solutions. Our work in this area includes a range of emission reduction technologies from alternative fuels and propulsion options through to hull form design and route optimisation.
We have completed vessel conversion / refit design work for hydrogen and fully electric systems as well as delivering new vessel design concepts incorporating these technologies.
Our track record also includes hull form optimisation, propeller design and route optimisation work in addition to high level studies on the economic viability and emissions reductions relating to the replacement of current fleets with zero emissions newbuild vessels.

Marine Renewables
Our team works on a range of marine renewable projects from concept development and FEED studies through to detailed design and support for offshore operations.
We have specific experience in floating offshore wind and the technical challenges relating to mooring systems, installation and maintenance. Our team also have significant experience working with wave energy devices and tidal turbine installation challenges.
