ISWG-GHG 14 taking place this week at the IMO headquarters in London
The International Maritime Organization’s upcoming intersessional working group on greenhouse gas emissions (ISWG-GHG 14), taking place this week, will set the pace for the industry’s progress towards true zero.
Speaking to Bunkerspot recently, Madadh MacLaine, ZESTAs Secretary General, highlighted how the ideal outcome from the meetings is a “market-based measure that country delegations can agree on, take back to capitol, and get over the line at MEPC 80.” “For real progress, an equitable green transition depends on the collaboration and agreement from stakeholders across the value chain, including energy suppliers, shipowners, cargo owners, ports and insurers that are collectively able to frame a navigational chart to true zero,” says Madadh.
