A groundbreaking project to undergo the world’s first CTV conversion from diesel to fully electric

e-Ginny: the future of electric crew transfer

Part-funded by the Department for Transport (DfT) and Innovate UK, e-Ginny is a multi-stakeholder initiative seeing a diesel-powered Mercurio 20m vessel transformed to run on 100% electric power, fitted with over 3 MWh of battery capacity, electric motors and propulsion pods.

e-Ginny will not only offer zero emissions in operation, but feature increased manoeuvrability while being near silent for passengers and passers-by. The critical development of shoreside and offshore charging capabilities means that E-CTVs like e-Ginny will be chargeable on location within the windfarm, greatly increasing the time and range that electric vessels can stay in operation without returning to port.
