ZESTAs and GLHA ecosystem well represented at Monaco Hydrogen Forum 2026

Oct 28, 2026

Madadh MacLaine, Founder and Secretary-General of ZESTAs and Co-Founder of the Global Liquid Hydrogen Alliance (GLHA), will join international industry leaders at the 5th Monaco Hydrogen Forum, taking place on 30 November – 1 December 2026 at the Hôtel Hermitage Monte-Carlo.

Held under the High Patronage of H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco, the Forum brings together policymakers, industry leaders, investors and technology providers to examine the commercial deployment of renewable hydrogen and related technologies.

This year’s programme features several speakers from the ZESTAs and GLHA ecosystem, reflecting expertise across hydrogen supply chains, maritime technologies, infrastructure and investment.

The Case for Liquid Hydrogen: From Energy Carrier to Maritime Mobility

On Monday 30 November, from 17:00 to 17:30, Madadh MacLaine will join a panel examining the role of liquid hydrogen in international energy transport and zero-emission maritime mobility.

Speakers:

  • Madadh MacLaine, Founder and Secretary-General, ZESTAs; Co-Founder, GLHA
  • Linda Boukhelifa, Global Manager H₂ Supply Chain, Storage & Mobility, Projects & Technology, Shell
  • Salah Mahdy, Global Director of Hydrogen, Chart Industries, a Baker Hughes Company

Moderator: Laurent Antoni, Executive Director, International Partnership for Hydrogen and Fuel Cells in the Economy (IPHE).

Venue: Salon Eiffel, Hôtel Hermitage Monte-Carlo.

The discussion will explore developments in liquefaction technology, cryogenic storage, hydrogen bunkering and vessel design, alongside the safety, economic and regulatory considerations for establishing commercial liquid hydrogen supply chains.

These are central areas of work for ZESTAs and GLHA, whose members are developing the technologies and infrastructure required to deliver renewable hydrogen to maritime and other industrial markets.

ZESTAs and GLHA members across the Forum programme

Beyond the liquid hydrogen panel, several representatives from the ZESTAs and GLHA ecosystem will contribute to discussions throughout the two-day Forum.

Laurence Boisramé, Bureau Veritas, will contribute to From Vision to Value: Delivering Bankable Hydrogen Projects, examining the conditions needed to move hydrogen projects from development towards investment and commercial operation.

Danielle Southcott, Founder and CEO of Veer Group, will participate in Shipping in a New Energy Era: Hydrogen e-Fuels and the Geopolitics of Maritime Transport, bringing the perspective of a company developing wind and hydrogen-powered ocean-going vessels.

Phil Sharp, Co-Founder and CTO of Genevos, and Dr Andreas Bodén, Senior Vice President and CTO of PowerCell Group, will join Beyond the Fuel Tank: Vessel Efficiency and the Business Case for Maritime Decarbonisation, addressing technological developments and energy efficiency in maritime operations.

Together, these contributions demonstrate the range of expertise within the ZESTAs and GLHA ecosystem, connecting renewable hydrogen production and distribution with fuel-cell technology, vessel development, classification, investment and commercial deployment.

Connecting Mediterranean hydrogen production with maritime demand

The Monaco Hydrogen Forum also provides an opportunity to build on discussions taking place through ZESTAs’ ShipZERO31 Mediterranean Zero Emission Ecosystem (Med ZEE) web-workshop series.

The series has brought together industry stakeholders to examine swappable energy storage systems, HyWindships combining wind propulsion with hydrogen and battery-electric systems, and renewable energy and hydrogen production across the Mediterranean.

These discussions have highlighted the importance of connecting renewable energy production with energy storage, port infrastructure, maritime demand and viable commercial models.

Through ZESTAs and GLHA, industry members are working across these interconnected areas to advance practical, scalable True Zero emissions technologies. The Monaco Hydrogen Forum offers another opportunity to strengthen these connections and engage with the wider hydrogen industry.
