Based in Wesel, Germany, ARGO ANLEG develops and supplies hydrogen technologies for mobile, stationary, industrial, and maritime applications. The company’s work spans hydrogen valve technology, refuelling systems, tank and container solutions, and wider hydrogen system integration.
ARGO ANLEG’s expertise sits in a highly practical part of the hydrogen value chain: the safe storage, handling, pressure regulation, transport, and delivery of hydrogen within real operating systems. Its technologies include gas handling units, high-pressure hydrogen components, thermal pressure relief devices, on-tank valves, refuelling interfaces, and hydrogen tank/container systems.
This capability is directly relevant to the maritime sector. ARGO ANLEG’s hydrogen filling systems include interchangeable container tank systems for ships, with solutions covering 350 to 700 bar applications. The company has also developed its own H2Tank-Tainer solution, based on 20-foot ISO containers, and has been involved in maritime hydrogen projects including the ELEKTRA project and the refuelling of a Hydrogen Support Vessel in Lorient.
As shipping moves towards True Zero emissions operations, hydrogen systems must be safe, reliable, space-efficient, and suitable for integration across vessels, ports, and energy infrastructure. ARGO ANLEG brings valuable experience in the practical systems that connect hydrogen production, storage, logistics, refuelling, and onboard use.
By joining ZESTAs, ARGO ANLEG becomes part of an international platform connecting technology developers, vessel operators, ports, energy providers, class, safety experts, and policy actors. This ecosystem approach is central to accelerating deployment: zero-emission vessels cannot scale without the supporting systems, infrastructure, standards, and technical coordination around them.
