As global investment in hydrogen production accelerates, one of the industry’s biggest challenges remains unresolved: transporting liquid hydrogen safely, efficiently and economically over long distances.

HYTRA is addressing this bottleneck with a purpose-built liquid hydrogen (LH₂) transport solution combining an innovative multihull tanker design with new cryogenic tank technology. Both core technologies are protected by recently filed patents and are designed to reduce transport costs while enabling large-scale international hydrogen trade.

In recent months, HYTRA has continued to advance its technology and project development. The company is preparing its first demonstration project, connecting Oman with Germany and South Korea through a 1,500 m³ LH₂ demonstration vessel.

The project brings together an international consortium including Sohar Port and Freezone, Sultan Qaboos University, Quest One and industrial partners, with the aim of validating scalable liquid hydrogen transport corridors.

HYTRA’s vision is to establish hydrogen transport as reliable infrastructure, enabling global hydrogen supply chains that support industrial decarbonisation and future clean-energy markets. By reducing logistics costs and improving scalability, HYTRA aims to help unlock the next phase of the hydrogen economy.
